10 Best Chrome Apps You Should Install in 2019

Google Chrome is my favorite browser. Not only it is super fast, but it also brings tons of features and extensions which give it an edge over all the other browsers in the market. One of the most underrated features of Google Chrome is its ability to support apps. When I am talking about apps, I don’t want you to confuse them with Chrome extensions. While both Chrome apps and extensions are hosted on the web store, they are not the same. For me, Chrome extensions are special plugins that allow Google Chrome to do specific things. For example, you can use Chrome extensions to manage downloads, save articles offline, customize the look of Chrome , and so forth and so on. Chrome apps, on the other hand, allow you to run full-fledged apps inside Chrome. A good example is the native Chrome apps like Google Drive and Docs. In this article, we are going to take a look at some of the best third-party Chrome apps that one should install in 2019. Best Chrome Apps You Should Use As mentione...

Google Assistant Can Now Read Bedtime Stories on Your Phone

There is good news for parents around the world. If you are not particularly good at reading bedtime stories to your kids, just ask the Google Assistant on your phone to do so and you will be able to hear the famous tales from the Panchtantra or other books. Whether you have an Android or an iOS phone, every time you say “Hey Google, tell me a story” , the Assistant tells you a tale. If you hear the “Truth Will Never Die” one day, it could be “Don’t be Greedy” next time, or “Don’t Trust Anybody” at some other time. Google introduced the “Tell Me a Story” feature in English in India, Australia, Britain and the US on Thursday. “You’ll need to have the latest version of Google Play Books for Android or iOS installed to listen to all of these great stories ,” Eric Liu, Product Manager, Google Assistant, wrote in a blog post. “Whether you’re on the way to school drop-off or waiting for soccer practice to start, you can hear stories like ‘Let’s Be Firefighters!’ (Blaze and the Monster M...

Dead Users on Facebook to Outnumber the Living on Facebook in 50 Years

If Facebook continues to expand at current rates, the number of deceased users could reach as high as 4.9 billion before the end of the century, making it the world’s biggest graveyard, predict researchers from the University of Oxford. The dead may outnumber the living on Facebook within 50 years, a trend that will have grave implications for how we treat our digital heritage in the future, said researchers from the Oxford Internet Institute (OII), a part of the university. The analysis predicts that based on 2018 user levels, at least 1.4 billion members will die before 2100. In this scenario, the dead could outnumber the living by 2070. “These statistics give rise to new and difficult questions around who has the right to all this data, how should it be managed in the best interests of the families and friends of the deceased and its use by future historians to understand the past,” said lead author Carl Ohman, a doctoral candidate at the OII. The analysis sets up two potentia...
